Mexican Independence Day is next week, and you can celebrate with free cocktails and appetizers at Diablo's.
Located in front of Monte Carlo, Las Vegas Weekly is sponsoring the free grub in Sept. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.
On hand will be Dark Devil Espolon tequila cocktails, Dos Equis, and food to wash it all down.
There'll be live music by South Beach, and if you stay after 9 p.m., you'll bear witness to Battle of the Bands.
Lion attacks trainer at MGM Grand

On Sept. 1, one of the 400-pound lions inside MGM Grand's lion exhibit apparently turned on its trainer.
A honeymooning Montana couple at the link below caught the action, showing the lion attacking the trainer and biting his left leg, before being pushed off with the help of another trainer and a lioness.

It may have been less than the past two years, but Jerry Lewis still brings in the donations even in a tough economy.
His annual Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon from South Point Hotel & Casino pulled in $58.9 million, concluding today after a marathon 21.5 hours.
It's his 5th year at South Point, and the MDA has been running annually for 45 years. Las Vegas performers Barry Manilow and Carrot Top also joined.

The $3.5 billion resort project located on the Las Vegas Strip between CityCenter and the Bellagio will join the exclusive Marriott Autograph Collection. The Las Vegas casino/hotel/resort will benefit from the more than 30 million strong customer data base operated by Marriott.
