Westward Ho still R.I.P., condos no longer planned

From the "more things change" department, back in November, Centex Corp. had purchased Westward Ho expecting to build condos, with Voyager Entertainment International, Inc. onboard to install an observation wheel, a.k.a. the world's largest ferris wheel.
According to TheStreet, both plans are off.
Centex has sold its stake back to its partner and plans to focus on their Urban Village, a planned condo/loft resort community on the South Strip.
While we don't mind not seeing a potential eyesore (condos notwithstanding) on the Strip, we admit we would've liked to have mushed our behinds in ferris wheel seats as cool as the ones above (called "orbitors," Cap'n).
