Tickets to Las Vegas is selling discounted tickets to the Vegas monorail for attendees of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) from Oct. 31-Nov. 3 and the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) from Nov. 14-16.

SEMA attendees receive 20 percent off, G2E attendees receive 15 percent off.

Regular monorail tickets run $5 each way, with a one-day unlimited pass costing $15.

The website offers free shipping of the tickets but doesn't verify you're an attendee, so if you happen to be visiting during convention time, you can save a couple bucks along with convention folk.

Note that they only accept purchases via PayPal.

PayPal isn't exactly the most popular mode of purchasing for businesses, who if attending SEMA or G2E, will most likely be expensing it anyway without need for a 15-20 percent discount.

Whenever something like this pops up, I see a red flag, knowing many an eBay scam has happened with fly-by-night companies through the popular web wallet.

I myself was taken by a scam artist when buying a bunch of jeans off eBay. I should've known the shoddy picture and bargain price was too good to be true. I was never able to get my $150 back, even with Safe Harbor.

I did some digging and found that the domain tix4vegas.com (established September 2006) is part of KBren Marketing Associates, LLC, which itself runs the San Bernadino National Forest Association. If you head to that website, they accept donations by credit cards.

So why just PayPal for the monorail tickets?

Maybe the cost they save on credit cards lets them provide free shipping.

The G2E site provides a direct link to the 15 percent off tickets, so if you run into any problems, take it up with Diana Press, customer relations.
