Maloof brothers enter film, commercial business

Owners of The Palms hotel-casino, the Maloof brothers are expanding their empire by hopping into the film biz, investing $700,000 in Feast, the latest movie to come from Bravo's reality show "Project Greenlight."
The Maloofs recently hosted a red-carpet premiere of the horror movie at The Palms, with "Project Greenlight"ers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in attendance.
Guests of The Palms will receive an advance copy of the Feast DVD, to be released Oct. 17. The movie will also be promoted at the Maloofs' other properties, including ads at the Arco Arena Jumbotron (they own the Sacramento Kings and the Sacramento Monarchs).
Beginning Oct. 16, the four brothers can be seen in a Carl's Jr. commercial, in which they're seen gobbling $6 burgers with a $6,000 bottle of Bordeaux wine.
Forbes magazine puts the wealth of the family at $1 billion.
