A special slot tournament for Silver Strike devotees takes place this weekend at downtown's Four Queens.

Silver Strike is the slot machine that awards commemorative custom coins in varying denominations. We ourselves play the machines like crazy at casinos right before they're slated for implosion.

So popular is the game that the fan website Silver Strikers has been created, with companion message board The Strike Point.

The tournament takes place tomorrow through Monday and costs $180.90. For $200 more, you can stay Friday through Sunday nights at Four Queens.

The registration fee includes a welcome reception with open bar, the tournament with a prize pool of $10,000, an awards ceremony with cake and champagne, and a limited edition quarter-pound silver and gold token.

A trade session will also be held Jan. 6 in the Four Queens Royal Room.
