Liberace Piano Competition begins next month

Ever want to play on Liberace's rhinestone-covered Baldwin piano?
Auditions for The Liberace Piano Competition begin next month, and in addition to a piano competition it also includes a showmanship competition.
Amateurs as well as professionals are welcome to participate. Classical competitors will perform on a Bosendorfer Imperial Concert piano and Liberace play-a-like showmanship comeptitors will play on Liberace's piano.
Auditions begin at noon on Aug. 12, with the competitors showcase on Sept. 9. Both take place at the Liberace Museum (Tropicana/Spencer), where there's a free shuttle to and from Strip casinos Tuesday-Sunday. Auditions are live and the public is welcome to attend for free.
Then on Sept. 16 at the Community Lutheran Church (3720 E. Tropicana), the finals will be held and the public is invited at $10 each or $5 for children 12 and under.
All proceeds will go toward the Liberace Foundation Scholarship Fund, the Liberace Adopt the Collection Fun, and Family Promise.
