In a $1 million, three-year deal, Zappos.com (where we've been known to purchase more than our share of shoes) is sponsoring this year's third annual Las Vegas Marathon.
The marathon began in 2005 with 12,000 runners that grew 50 percent to 18,000 in 2006. This year's marathon will begin Dec. 2 on the Las Vegas Strip.
Zappos is headquartered in Las Vegas, though we still buy online to get free shipping.
