Ricin man awakes from coma
Roger Bergendorff is the name of the man who was rushed to the hospital on Valentine's Day and went into a coma from apparent ricin poisoning at the Extended Stay America motel in Las Vegas.
Bergendorff, 57, recently awoke and is currently speaking with metro and the FBI about how ricin and The Anarchist's Cookbook came to be found in his motel room.
According to The Associated Press, Bergendorff's brother says that the ricin was indeed Roger's, and that he intended to use it for self-defense.
Though ricin can be lethal in amounts as small as the head of a pin, it's normally used in cancer research. There is no known antidote.
Bergendorff's brother also says he did not intend harm on anyone, and when he found himself infected, he said with surprise, "It worked on me."
