"Escape to Witch Mountain" sequel to film in Las Vegas

We may be showing our age, but we remember catching the Disney sci-fi kid flicks Escape to Witch Mountain and Return from Witch Mountain in the movie theaters and have been patiently waiting for another sequel -- 30 years later (we don't count the Disney Sunday Night Movie a few years back).
The original had none other than Ray Milland, and the sequel had Bette Davis.
How do you top that? Easy -- Cheech Marin.
The new movie, Race to Witch Mountain, stars Cheech along with Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) and Carla Gugino. It's directed by Andy Fickman, who did the cult classic Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical.
The Las Vegas Sun reports that later this month and next, the Witch Mountain film crew will be in town to film at the classic Fergusons Motel (1028 E. Fremont).
The 68-room, 1.15 acre Fergusons recently went on the selling block for $6.5 million (reduced from $7.8 million) and still looks the same today.
Las Vegas motels are part of a bygone era, and we're ecstatic Disney has chosen the downtown motel to represent (we suspect Las Vegas won't be shown except for the motel). And we don't know about you, but we plan to stalk Fergusons in hopes of being immortalized in a piece of Americana.
