St. Regis coming to Las Vegas
After Starwood's failed attempt to bring W to Las Vegas (which would've been the large parcel near Hard Rock where the old Ice nightclub still sits), they're trying again with St. Regis.
This time, Starwood is partnering with Las Vegas Sands (owner of The Venetian and Palazzo) to manage the luxury condo. While Sands manages their own casino-hotels, they will relinquish managing control to Starwood.
In the Vegas area, Starwood runs Westin and Planet Hollywood Hotel-Casino, with a new luxury hotel opening Dec. 18 in Summerlin called element.
St. Regis will be located next to Venetian and Palazzo at a cost of $600 million for the nongaming development.
It's scheduled to open in 2010.
