Las Vegas gambling, tourism down again
Down, down, down.
That's how far Las Vegas gaming revenue and tourist visits have dropped. Not only are they again down for the month of October, they're also among the largest percentage drop since records have been kept.
Gambling on the Strip was down 26 percent ($475 million) in October compared to the same time last year.
Visitors were down 10.2 percent, which was second only to 14.1 percent... and that was right after 9/11.
Gaming in general was generally thought of as recession-proof, but this distressing data clearly indicates people are neither visiting nor gambling as much as they used to.
