Las Vegas selected to go dark for Earth Hour
If you happen to be on the Las Vegas Strip on March 28 and all the lights go out, don't panic.
Las Vegas is one of almost 100 cities around the world that is being encouraged to go dark as a way to draw attention to the problem of climate change.
Earth Hour will occur between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., with all non-essential bright lights turning off.
As for whether it happens in Vegas, that's up to the individual businesses and casinos. Considering casinos use their lights to draw people in, the way the economy is, an hour lost in player revenue can be a lot.
So any light in Las Vegas is an essential light. We somehow suspect all lights will remain burning.
