Fontainebleau Las Vegas approached by other casinos
The mammoth beauty on North Strip that is Fontainebleau Las Vegas sits like a glinting monolith of steel and concrete, partially finished because some of its bankers refused the final payment needed to complete the hotel-casino, forcing it into bankruptcy.
Construction ceased, and it took over a week to remove all of the equipment.
Fontainebleau is suing its banks to recover the promised funding, but now they've been approached by other casinos to finance the completion.
However it plays out, we expect to see Fontainebleau eventually up and running, perhaps by next year... and perhaps good timing, if the economy has picked up by then.
