MDA and Jerry Lewis receive $60.5 million in pledges

The 44th annual Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon took place once again yesterday at the South Point Hotel & Casino. It spanned 21.5 hours.
Jerry Lewis hosted and pulled in $60.5 million in donations. This was off a bit from last year's $65 million, but given the economic downturn it was still significant.
"Thank you," Lewis said. "Love conquers all."
Being in Las Vegas, local entertainment included George Wallace, Terry Fator, along with Tony Orlando, Dolly Parton, Three Dog Night, Five for Fighting, and more.
To continue donating by way of auction, you can visit items at this link until Sept. 15.
