What happened to LasVegasVegas?

Sapphires voted #1 Gentlemen's Club in Las Vegas

Sapphire pole pro dancer at the AVN AEE

Sapphires Gentlemen's Club in Las Vegas is not only the world's largest but recently was voted the number one club in Las Vegas.  Readers of the local newspaper,  Las Vegas Review Journal, voted the men's club a winner for 2012 in the annual Best of Vegas feature.

Nevada Gaming Control Board Watching Day Pool Clubs

Rio's had a topless pool for part of a summer before closing

With a warning to operators of daytime pool clubs the Nevada Gaming Control Board restated its position concerning this latest fad of club party life.  A laundry list of criminal problems including drugs, prostitution, sexual assualt, price fraud, and underage clients have been associated with these multi-million dollar cash mills.

Boulder Highway Gambling Profits Up

Eastside Cannery on the Boulder Strip

Boulder Strip delivered the best numbers  while the Nevada gaming industry statewide pulled in almost 6% more than last year.  Boulder Strip trumped the bunch with a 23% year-over-year increase.  Boulder Station, Sam's Town, Eastside Cannery, Joker's Wild, Green Valley Ranch, Sunset Station and M Resort are included in the Boulder Strip stats.

Jumper Becomes First Suicide at Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge

Bridge walkway at top of bridge is 900 feet above the Colorado River

A 60-year-old woman from San Jose, California jumped to her death from the walkway of the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge Saturday evening.  She fell 900 feet before landing in the Colorado River where her body was recovered Sunday morning.  The Clark County coroner's office identified the woman as Patricia Oakley.

Vince Neil banned from The Palms

Outside of illegal activities, it takes a lot to get banned from a Las Vegas casino.

But based on a negative review?  And on Twitter, no less?

That’s what happened to rocker Vince Neil (of Motley Crue), who took to Twitter after a bad experience eating at Little Buddha (at The Palms).

His 140 characters began: “I love Vegas, but DO NOT GO TO LITTLE BUDDHA @palms IN VEGAS!! OMG RUDEST STAFF EVER!! Don’t go!!”

Free ice cream scoop at Ben & Jerry's today

Today is Ben & Jerry’s annual Free Ice Cream Scoop day!

Stop by your local B&J and sample a scoop of anything they have, from now until 8 p.m.  We especially like the new craze of Greek Frozen Yogurt.

Like in years past, Las Vegas local celebrities will be on hand every 30 minutes.  If you stop by Green Valley Ranch, for example, you could get served by women from the “Fantasy” show (performing at Luxor).  Or “The Jersey Boys.”  Or “Thunder From Down Under.”

Zip line hoping to extend to the Strip

With the immense popularity of downtown Fremont’s zip line, it was only a matter of time before it made it to the Strip.

MGM Resorts is seeking approval to install several lines, with rides ranging from 340 feet to 1,400 feet.  Our favorite one would begin on Excalibur’s roof and run to Luxor’s east tower.  The longest would travel from Luxor to the Strip.

No longer would you need to wait for the tram between the two casinos, you could just zip line it.

Dates set for next iHeartradio Music Festival

Last year’s 2-day iHeartRadio Music Festival was so popular that it was a done deal that there would be another.

It would be hard to top last year's Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Jennifer Lopez, Sting, Usher, Carrie Underwood, The Black Eyed Peas, and on and on.

But not for lack of trying, as Las Vegas is a town of broken records, so promoters will surely be attempting an even bigger live concert in radio history than last year’s.
