CBS Sports is the latest major television network to jump on the sport of tournament poker. PartyPoker.net and CBS Sports have partnered to produce the first annual Intercontinental Poker Championship. A Thursday evening meet and greet was followed with a blind draw for the 21 available seats. The Lounge at the Palms Hotel was filled with the invited professional poker players representing 21 countries. The evening was capped off with a photo op on the production set. Play in the double elimination format tournament begins tomorrow at 11:00 AM with 7 players making up table 1. Table 2 is scheduled for 4:00 PM and table 3 will begin at 7:30 PM so the action should last throughout the afternoon and probably into the late evening.

The loosers will return on Saturday and play a second time for an opportunity to join Friday's winners at the final table on Sunday. CBS Sports will be filming the entire show for later broadcast in a series of installments. This is a freeroll tournament offering the invited players an opportunity to collect some corporate prize money a welcomed bonus. Doyle Brunson will be representing the US. Daniel Negreanu will be carrying the Canadian flag and Carlos Mortensen is fronting for Spain. And all of them drew the same table #3.
