As a result of yesterday's indictment of Full Tilt Poker's founder Raymond Bitar and CEO Nelson Burtnick (as well as founders of PokerStars and Absolute Poker), Full Tilt's Onyx Cup, its prestigious poker event, has been rumored to be cancelled.
The sterling series was set to begin next month in Las Vegas, at the highest buy-in for any tournament: $100,000 to $300,000. Players could buy-in directly and qualify online.
U.S. players are already disallowed from playing for real money on the sites. In the case of Full Tilt, players aren't even able to download the update to their software, meaning players are not able to unregister from tournaments they've pre-registered for, such as the Onyx Cup.
As Full Tilt, Stars, and Absolute leave the U.S. market, expect more fallout to continue.
