NASCAR's traveling road show roared into SinCity and dominated the Vegas scene for both locals and the strip. My grocery store has some well-worn NASCAR style racing tires sitting among giant stacks of beer while the superstars of NASCAR are hosting events live at the major strip resorts. NASCAR is good for Las Vegas and that's especially true now. NASCAR fans don't mind paying for a good time and they like to gamble, too.
A crowd of more than 140,000 primed racing fans in town is exactly what the city needs, even the sports books. NASCAR is a nice lead-in to March Madness betting.
