Dick Butkus appears weekly at the Field of Dreams Sports & Memorabilia in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
Meet Dick Butkus, the NFL legend that defined the image of defensive players in the professional football league. Butkus wore #51 for the Chicago Bears during the sixties and seventies when the Central division was known as the "black and blue division."
Butkus played nine seasons for the Chicago Bears after being drafted in the first round in 1965 following a college career at the University of Illinois. He was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979 and inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1983. Throughout his career the 6'3" 245 lb defensive linebacker was known as the "most feared player in the NFL."
