Phil Ivey skips 2011 WSOP sues FullTilt Poker

Phi Ivey during happier times at the 2010 WSOP

It's hard to imagine poker pro Phil Ivey without the FullTilt logos.  It's even harder to imagine the World Series of Poker without a Phil Ivey; but, that's the way it going to be for the 2011 WSOP.

Ivey issued a press release earlier this week stating his decision to skip the 2011 WSOP and the reason he decided to take this action.  According to his website Ivey believes he shouldn't play in the events while FullTilt Poker players and Ivey supporters will have to set out the tournametn because FullTilt has not refunded any of the player's account money.

While competing online poker room PokerStars has returned more than $100 million to players, FullTilt has yet to deliver anything.  Ivey alleges FullTilt doesn't have the money in reserve to pay the injured players.  His lawyer, Las Vegas poker player David Chesnoff, has filed a lawsuit in District Court in Las Vegas against TiltWare, LLC, the operator of the FullTilt web site for an amount that exceeds $150,000,000 for damage to the loss of reputation.

FullTilt Poker has issued a response to the Phil Ivey actions and it can be read in it's entirety on PokerNews.com.
