We put on our hiking boots and climbed the hill to snap some photos of the 64-acre vacant lot on Gibson Road and Horizon Ridge Parkway in Henderson, site of The Summit, developer Fred Nassiri's proposed condo/mixed-use project that's been met with controversy by residents.
Before plans are approved, The Summit must receive a zoning change, along with alterations to the city's height restriction for tall buildings.

As pictured, there isn't much alive within 750 feet of the space. Nassiri was required to give notice about the neighborhood meeting this past Thursday to all residents 750 feet from the project.

Slade Development's Vantage, advertising "heavenly views of Sin City," is The Summit's immediate neighbor across Gibson. With lofts and flats containing glass walls as high as 20 feet, Vantage promises "breathtaking views of the Strip, the surrounding cityscape, and picturesque mountains." If The Summit goes through with its towers far eclipsing 20 feet, well, we suppose two out of three ain't bad.

Vantage right now.
