Las Vegas will have an additional 1,650 high end guest rooms available on Monday. Joining the recently opened Aria's 4,000 rooms will be a new Planet Hollywood Tower and a new tower at the Hard Rock Hotel.
The PH Westgate Tower addition to Planet Hollywood adds 1,200 rooms while the Hard Rock's HRH Tower offers 450 suites. Guest with well stocked wallets will enjoy the many amenities of both new joints.
Opening the new guest accommodations at a time when the city is finding it impossible to keep the thousands of existing rooms filled with paying guest appears to be a case of unrealistic optimism that will further dilute the sagging Las Vegas visitors numbers. Las Vegas doesn't need more guest rooms, Las Vegas needs more guests.
