We Wish You a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving Holiday

A bountiful harvest spills from a large cornucopia basket at the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden

Thanksgiving marks the start of the 2011 holidays.  Our thoughts turn to heaping plates of delicious food, joyful times with family and friends, endless toasts to memories of wonderful times past and promises of a prosperous future.  Of course, if you're like us then you're secretly hoping for an early Thanksgiving Day meal, then leaping into the car for the race across the desert to Las Vegas to spend the remainder of your 4 day holiday in Sin City.

Vegas is the place you go for all the really important stuff not listed above.  World class shopping abounds here in the neon nirvana, how about the thrill of seeing all those sevens turn to dollar signs as they line up on the pay line, maybe a river card hitting the felt to give you the winning nuts in a high dollar poker tournament and where else do they send a partially clad beauty carrying free booze for all those holiday toasts you forgot to make at home?

And least we forget, the food.  At last count Las Vegas had something just shy of about a million buffets (restaurants not included... no one at LVV can count that high).  With a little luck you can score a comp to the infinite array of holiday treats.  Las Vegas chefs know more ways to prepare turkey than Bubba Gump could list for shrimp.

May we suggest you visit the Bellagio's Conservatory & Botanical Gardens for a bit of culture and quiet time.  Stroll among giant horses, listen to talking trees and pose with scarecrows and huge pumpkins. Those that can not make it to Vegas can still enjoy some of the living art by visiting Flipchip's photo gallery with the links listed below:

And finally, a Top Nine List originally published on the Poker Prof's Blog 11/21/2004.
