Zynga hosts first Poker Con at The Palms

Over 50 million people play Zynga poker every day, with over 215 million playing every month.

That's a lot of poker players, and you know Zynga is just waiting for the day when online poker becomes legal in the U.S.

So far though, you can play for free via Facebook or other social networks.

And if you're in Las Vegas this weekend, you can attend Zynga's very first Poker Con.

The two-day poker convention will take place March 18-19 at the Palms and is presented much like the World Series of Poker life exhibits at Rio: poker parties, celebrity appearances, free swag, and a poker school.

All centered around a live poker tournament with a $100,000 prize pool.  And that's real money, not online dollars.  Four Zynga poker players have already won their entries, along with flight and accommodations.

Expected poker celebs include: Annie Duke (who will run the Zynga Poker University), Doyle Brunson, Scotty Nguyen, Gavin Smith, Antonio Esfandiari, Vanessa Rousso, and Mike Sexton.

Tickets were $125, and we say "were" because alas, all are currently sold out.  But check this site for more information on last-minute eligibility.
