Week in review for 03.06.05

I thought poker would be a good way to work my son's way thru college.Plenty of great content this week, starting with the updates on the WBPT website to RSVP your seat at the June tourney, head on over and make sure you register. Now, the big news this week, by far and away is the new pokertracker guide from Hank and Iggy. If you are not familiar with poker tracker, check out Ship It Poker for a sterling recommendation. I have not read the guide, but given the authors I expect it's well worth the $20. If your still waffling, let me paraphrase Tom McEvoy, "How could a player be so stupid that they won't spend money on a book that will pay for itself if they win just one or two more pots because of reading it." This brings me to the next blogger on-line tourney set for March 13 at 9pm EST on Full Tilt, the format is HORSE!

Glenn has a good read on his experience at the River Palms, Rick has a fresh new look and feel, Badblood was Moneymakered, Bill has a review of Poker Coaching and Snail Trax has a short and sweet post about inducing fish to bluff.

This week on Card Club I answered a reader e-mail on building a quality blog and getting readers (the quality blog topic was part of this post a while back). If you happen to listen to this program I want to make sure I clarify one point on posting your blog to groups/forums. I am NOT talking about dropping into a forum and leaving a post like, "Check out my blog". I am talking about dropping into a forum and leaving a post like "I've been reading posts here at XYZ and espically found the post on ABC insightful, including FGH's response. I wonder if anyone here could give me some feedback on my blog?". The point of posting your blog to a forum is two-fold, get people to look at it and get some constructive critism on it. On this self-promotion note, I've been having trouble updating my blog roll since Technorati seems to be whacked for the time being, so if you have a poker blog linking to me and I haven't seen it, drop me an e-mail and I'll get you added.

To wrap up this week, be sure to check out Al Can't Hang for a little Cow Bell Goodness.

Thanks for the plug prof. Too bad Poker Tracker is illegal in Vegas.
