World Series of Poker Circuit Event #4 Results

Andy Bloch, winner of event #4.A marathon final table finally ended event #4 of the 2005 World Series of Poker Circuit Tournament just before midnight when Andy Bloch defeated David Sternbaum to take down the $1,000 + $60 Limit Hold'em event. Andy picked up $25,495 for his win and his first WSOP Circuit champion's gold ring. David goes away with $14,162 second place money. The final table began at 4:00 pm and was soon down to three players. The three remaining players went at each other for three hours with the chip lead often changing on every hand. Aitan Hillel, the chip leader coming into the final table, was eliminated in third place and received $7,789. This left Andy Bloch and David Sternbaum heads up for the championship. The event attracted 73 entrants and we were now down to the final two.

The final hand saw chip leader, Andy Bloch, with a Qh-3h against David's J-9o. Andy raised David all-in before the flop. The flop showed a 10-Q-2 giving Andy a pair of Queens. The turn brought a 9 to pair David and the river was a 6. Andy's pair of Queens bested David's Nines and gave the tournament victory to Mr. Bloch.

The final table results complete with the starting chip position indicated by the number in parenthesis following the name is shown below.

8. J.J. Liu (5) Palo Alto, CA $2,830

9. Sam Lewis (8) Las Vegas $2,125

Event #5, $1,500 + $70 buy in No limit Hold'em, was under way in the tournament area at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Resort. Notable professionals playing in the event included Ron Rose, Men 'Master' Nguyen, David Plastik and Scotty Nguyen. The final table for event #5 will start on Thursday, March 17th, at 4:00 pm.
