NO JOBS FOR ROOKIE DEALERS

Daniel Negreanu sports new look at Five Diamonds.Yesterday Caesars Palace announced the opening of a 15,000 sq. ft. poker room in March. The MGM is already building a 25 table room and I told you of the Hard Rock’s plan to open a 12 table room ASAP. These will join the recently re-opened rooms at the Gold Coast, Aladdin and Ballys. With all these rooms opening you can imagine the demand at dealer schools to learn poker dealing.

However, I was a little surprised to learn from Dave Thompson, who works for a dealers school trying to place rookie dealers, that no-one is hiring inexperienced dealers. Of course, as everyone moves up the dealer food chain a few openings must occur. I am thinking graveyard shift in the El Cortez (Spanish for lung cancer).

The cold weather has brought out the demand for facial hair in the top players. Both fellow bloggers, Daniel Negreanu and Paul Phillips, appeared at the Bellagio this week sporting new beards. Maybe they are closet Tobey McGuire beard fans. Also sporting a beard was Mike Paulle, who was pleased he took the pension money off the Grandmas in the NLHE at the Gold Coast. So if you see some old ladies walking up the Hill with the help of their Zimmer frames in freezing temperatures offer them a ride home and tell their Grandsons Mike Paulle can be found at the Bellagio.
