Ted Forrest Is 2006 National Heads-Up Poker Champion
Ted Forrest is the 2006 NBC Heads-UP Poker Champion.
Ted Forrest is the 2006 NBC national Heads-Up Poker Champion. Overcoming a loss in the first of three games with Chris "Jesus" Ferguson Ted used the break between games to collect himself and he apparently did that quite well since he got runner, runner wins to take the championship. This is Chris Ferguson's second time to be runner-up, in 2005 he finished second to Phil Hellmuth.
The National Heads-Up poker Championship trophy.
The tournament ran late, almost fifteen hours long, and finished at 1:30 this morning. Sam Farha and Ted Forrest battled for almost four hours in their semifinal match before Forrest finally eliminated Farha and advanced to the semifinal round where he faced Sean Sheikhan. The match with Sean didn't require the long hours of the previous duel but it was another come from behind win for the eventual champion. Three and a half hours were required for the final table play between Ted Forrest and Chis Ferguson. Chis took the early lead when he won the first match after getting down to only 125,000 in chips to Ted's over a million (each player begin the match with 640,000 in chips). It was just another marathon day of big-time tournament poker, and you thought your work day was tough. Ted had to play three matches (really 5, the championship round is 3) today to earn a half million dollars and the National Heads-Up Poker Championship trophy. Congratulations to Ted Forrest for another major poker tournament championship.
Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson ponders a quarter million dollar decision.
