Chip Reese Wins Inaugural WSOP $50K H.O.R.S.E...New Poker Champion of the World?

Chip Reese wins World Series of Poker $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship

Chip Reese outlasted an elite field of poker super stars to take down the inaugural World Series of Poker $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship. No surprise, since Chip is generally considered to be the World's best all-around ultra-high limit poker player. A veteran of the poker scene in Las Vegas, Chip usually can be found in "Doyle's Game," a cash game with pots that can buy a house. Even though Chip has two WSOP bracelets he stayed away form the tournament scene until his kids began asking if he was such a good player why they never saw him on TV, so Chip began playing tournaments again and Saturday morning a little before 9:30 the all night final table ended when Chip Reese won the H.O.R.S.E. event. Many are saying it is the tournament that determines the World's best poker player. Perhaps best of all it will be shown on TV so Chip's kids will know he's really that good.

Chip had to fight uphill during much of the heads-up play, finally overtaking Andy Bloch, an equally tough all-around poker professional. The lead was traded back and forth until all the chips belonged to Chip. Congratulations to Chip Reese for his WSOP win. Considering the championship quality of this final table I believe a new World Poker Champion was crowned Saturday morning. Complete stats and hand by hand play available at PokerWire.com.
