Barney Frank Introduces Internet Poker Legalization Bill

Barney FrankBarney Frank (D-MA), the powerful Chairman of the Financial Services Committee, introduced his Internet Gaming Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007 designed to provide relief from the Frist Bill that killed Internet poker in the US. The Internet Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007 will create an exemption to the UIGEA for properly licensed online gaming operators.

What does this really mean? It means Internet poker will be played by the millions of poker players in the US without fear of becoming a criminal, having accounts frozen and money seized. Once again, executives of the Internet poker rooms can travel freely to the US without fear of arrest and detainment.

Once passed, the bill will provide Internet gaming sites a legal pass to do business in the US, a first. The bill will allow the continuous scrutiny of Internet poker rooms thus insuring poker players of poker game integrity. This will be accomplished thru the regulation and enforcement of the industry with strict controls over the virtual poker rooms.

Thank you Barney Frank for standing up for American citizens and restoring the freedom to choose what we do in our leisure time with our discretionary money.
