Memorial Day Weekend in Las Vegas

Memorial Day weekend is the 3 day holiday that signals the un-official start of the Las Vegas tourist season. Hundreds of thousands of the follow your luck faithful will be in the desert Gambling Mecca starting today. Over the course of the summer millions of Vegas visitors will follow to spend quality leisure time in Las Vegas during the blast furnace heat from being on the edge of Death Valley. Acres of sunburned skin, truckloads of cold booze, mountains of money left to the Vegas economy, the grandest resorts in the world filled to capacity, and the thousands of seats in poker rooms and poker tournaments occupied all the time. Damn, I love the smell of money on a hot Vegas day.

I'll be spending much of my summer at the Rio Resort Las Vegas for the 55 days of the 2007 World Series of Poker. I had the honor of being invited to join the WSOP Digital Media Team assembled by John Caldwell of [link removed].com. [link removed].com has joined with the 2007 WSOP's official media provider, Bluff Magazine, to give the world up to the minute news, event blogging, photos, video's, and live podcast of all the action and drama from the original "Old Grand Dad" of all poker tournaments.

I'll be in some great company including my friend and associate, the premier poker scribe alive today, Dr. Pauly from Tao of Poker. Change 100 will be there with her insiders edge. Another friend, BJ Nemeth, the guy that invented and refined the art of live blogging of poker tournaments will be ringside at all of the final tables. Fellow Texan and one of the all-time great poker reporters, Amy Calistra the girl with the familiar black hat and unique style, will be there. Mean Gene and the Poker Shrink will be there.

A quality team of seasoned pros and hand picked interns charged with the daunting task of providing the best coverage ever for any poker event will be there reporting every minute from day #1 through the WSOP $10K Main Event final table.
I will continue to post daily right here on the Poker Prof's Blog with always fresh photos from the day. You will continue to see new pics on Poker Player Newspaper. I am proud and most thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this year's history making WSOP Digital Media Team. Thanks John for inviting me and my cameras to the "big poker show."
