Our Inspiration
ZenZone takes its inspiration from Japanese Ukiyo-E, the 18th century art of the floating world. At the time, Tokyo was the largest city in the world. Class barriers were fluid, money was plentiful, downtime became a preoccupation, and leisure an industry. A writer of the time described the new urban class as "living only for the moment, turning our attention to the pleasures of the moon, the snow, the cherry blossoms, singing songs, drinking wine, diverting ourselves in just floating, floating, refusing to be disheartened, like a gourd floating with the river current, this is ukiyo, the floating world."
