Dining
You name it, we got it and probably at a price you can’t believe from free to bring your Visa because you can’t wheelbarrow in enough cash to pay the bill. The Las Vegas Yellow Pages have sixty pages of listings for restaurants so whatever you want we got. All of the major hotels have all-you-can-eat buffets that range in price from a couple of dollars to more than thirty per person. Buffets are a great place to take the family for a meal since the kids can pick and choose their food and some offer a lower price for underage children. The quality of the food is generally good and the number of different selections can be somewhat overwhelming. All of the buffets post a daily menu and most permit you to go in and check out the offerings before you decide to pay.
If there is a Las Vegas trademark dinner it would have to be affordable prime rib. Most of the hotel buffets and coffee shops offer a Vegas size cut of prime rib for about what you would pay for a hamburger and fries back home. Many of the hotels have in-house bakeries so expect to enjoy some great desserts, specialty breads and sweet rolls always fresh from the oven. Although the better, upscale and specialty restaurants usually close in the early morning hours the hotel coffee shops are a twenty-four hour operation and most have a complete menu similar to a New York diner. The night hours (usually beginning at 11:00 pm) are when the coffee shops offer their lowest price food specials. Many have full breakfast offerings for a couple of bucks. Often, if you don’t see your craving on the menu all you have to do is ask and the chef may prepare it for you. Don’t forget to tip a little extra for a special request.
The city is packed with upscale restaurant, white table cloths, real silverware, wine cellars and sommeliers, dress codes and the best meal you will ever have (probably the most expensive too). Every ethnic food group is available for your pleasure. All of the hotels have more than one top of the line restaurant so make your reservation, bring your platinum visa card and prepare to spend the evening being treated to a gourmet feast fit for royalty. Look around in some of the restaurants and you will probably see some real royalty enjoying a meal in Vegas. Food is one of the pleasures of vacationing in Las Vegas so try a little of everything from the free hotdogs, 99 cent shrimp cocktails, $50 Kobe beef mini-burgers, buffets that stretch out of sight and meals that require a mortage.
