A record number 1232 players signed up for the $500 NL Casino Employees event at the WSOP. Last year there were 663 and the number of entrants almost doubled this year. The top 101 players won prize money and at the end of day one, only 18 players remained.

Marsha Waggoner, who is the the wife of Kenna James, made the final table and finished in 8th place. After two days of action, Chris Gros from Henderson, NV (who also deals poker at Caesars Palace) won his first bracelet and $127,616 in cash.
