Boulder Highway Gambling Profits Up

Eastside Cannery on the Boulder Strip

Boulder Strip delivered the best numbers  while the Nevada gaming industry statewide pulled in almost 6% more than last year.  Boulder Strip trumped the bunch with a 23% year-over-year increase.  Boulder Station, Sam’s Town, Eastside Cannery, Joker’s Wild, Green Valley Ranch, Sunset Station and M Resort are included in the Boulder Strip stats.

Locals knew before the Nevada Gaming Control Board released it’s latest quarterly report that times were inproving with street traffic increasing daily (even with $4 gasoline) and parking lots are no longer half empty.  But… perhaps the worst thing, waiting for seating at the restaurants when it’s close to meal time.  We haven’t had to wait in line for the past six years.

After five straight months of gaming revenue increases I finally believe Vegas has hit bottom and may be heading for better times.  For the first time in my life I don’t mind waiting at traffic signals or standing in line at the coffee shops.  I hope the lines become longer, much longer; and, traffic is once again our biggest bitch with Las Vegas.

Ending on a positive sidenote:  Many of the smaller local businesses located within the Boulder Strip corrider are reporting similiar increases in revenues.  Nevada may be the Silver State but it’s controlled by the casinos and that’s not such a bad thing.   Gambling moguls know, “Offer gambling and they will come.”  They’ll even come back.

For many of our readers that play poker another periphial plus, Poker rooms are filling more seats (cash and tournament) and that’s a good thing for players.  All poker players welcome.
